Why Opus and not GPT or Gemini?
Based on my experience building this project, Opus 4.5 has been the best model overall. GPT 5.2 edges out in some scenarios, but I prefer Opus for this codebase.
Do you use Cursor or Claude Code?

Are you a programmer?
I worked as an SDE at Salesforce (Tableau), Expedia, and Microsoft. Total YOE is ~4 years

Yes, I'm building this startup fulltime
How do you afford this?
I worked as a software engineer at big tech for years, so I have runway for this
How much do you spend on AI?
$230-430 a month ($200 Claude Code subscription + API usage)
What about free AI options?
Antigravity gives free credits, Google AI Studio has a free tier, and Claude.ai has a free plan. GitHub Copilot is free for students. Most tools offer trial credits to get started.
Do you let Claude do everything?
If new feature/problem will create or touch a lot of files -> planning document (architecture/design doc) -> iterate on the doc -> leave Claude to do the implementing -> review the code and correct it. If new feature is small -> scope the feature to its own file -> once working integrate it. For bugs -> try a simple fix -> if not working, log more -> if not working learn more about how the system works
Do you use autonomous AI agents?
I don't use autonomous agents since I'm at my computer directing the AI myself. They're better for set-and-forget workflows where you leave for hours. With interactive use, direct guidance is more effective and faster.
What is vibe coding?
"Vibe coding" is a software development approach, coined by AI researcher Andrej Karpathy in a February 2025 social media post, where the developer heavily relies on large language models (LLMs)
Why the billionaire title?
It signals this is a long term experiment/marathon, not a speed run. Also it's 50% a satirical title
When will the project be released?
It is now in closed beta - people are approved off the waitlist regularly.
Are you making money yet?
This is not a speedrun - we don't anticipate producing revenue for the foreseeable future.
What makes this different from other tools?
3 things: 1) Personalized news based on your investor type 2) Portfolio tracking with deep analytics 3) Research tools for retail investors that brokerages don't offer

I define financial freedom as the software portfolio I'm building will cover all expenses for living
