Simple Shared Calendar Privacy Policy

Effective October 2, 2026

The short version

Simple Shared Calendar keeps your shared calendars in sync between the people you invite. We keep only what that takes: your calendars, their events, and the first name you choose to share. We don't ask for your email, phone number, contacts or location. We don't sell data, show ads, or use tracking or analytics tools.

What we keep

Your calendars and events. Each calendar's name and color, who's in it, and its events: the title, time, notes, and who added it. These are stored on our server so everyone in the calendar sees the same thing.

Your name, if you share it. When you continue with Apple, the app asks Apple only for your name, never your email. We show it to the people in your calendars as your first name and last initial (like “Mary S.”). If you skip it, your events show “Added by someone”. Your Apple sign-in also lets you get your calendars back on a new iPhone.

Notifications. If you allow notifications, we keep a notification address for your device so we can tell you when someone adds or changes an event. Notifications include the event's title and time and are delivered by Apple.

Running the service fairly. A security check that it's a genuine copy of the app, and short-lived usage counts that stop abuse and are deleted automatically.

Who can see your calendar

Everyone in a calendar can see its events and add their own. Anyone who has a calendar's invite link can join it, and can see the calendar's name and upcoming events when they open the link, so share it only with people you want in. The calendar's owner can remove people and reset the link at any time, which stops the old link from working.

Deleting your information

Deleted events are removed for everyone, and the record that they were deleted is cleared within 30 days. Deleting a calendar deletes all of its events.

You can delete your account in the app's Settings. This removes your name, your Apple sign-in link and your devices, and takes you out of every calendar. Calendars you own pass to the next person in them, or are deleted if you're the only one. Events you added stay for the others, without your name.

Service providers

Our server runs on Google Cloud in the United States. Google Cloud keeps standard request logs (IP address, time and the address requested) for up to 30 days for security and troubleshooting.

Apple provides Sign in with Apple, notifications, and the check that the app is genuine. See Apple's privacy policy.

Children

Simple Shared Calendar isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
